Silver Software has consistently demonstrated enterprise-wide high process maturity starting with its ISO 9001 certification in 2001 and CMMI L4 appraisal in 2003.
Silver Software has been appraised at Level 5 maturity of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI-SW Ver 1.1) across its development centers in India and UK after a rigorous and independent appraisal by an SEI authorized Lead Appraiser. The appraisal has taken place across India and UK locations from 21 Aug to 1st Sept 2006 and covered all 22 Process Areas. Silver Software is the first European company enterprise-wide appraised at CMMI L5 and is the first CMMI L5 company in UK.
CMMI® (Capability Maturity Model® Integration) is a process improvement maturity model for the development of products and services. It consists of best practices that address development and maintenance activities that cover the product lifecycle from conception through delivery and maintenance.
ISO 9001:2000 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system, which meets customer requirements and enhances customer satisfaction.
DO 178B produced by Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics, Inc. (RTCA), the Federal Aviation Authority's (FAA) Advisory Circular AC20-115B established DO-178B as the accepted means of certifying all new aviation software. DO-178B is primarily concerned with development processes. As a result, certification to DO-178B requires delivery of multiple supporting documents and records. The quantity of items needed for DO-178B certification, and the amount of information that they must contain, is determined by the level of certification being sought.
CENELEC 50128 was prepared by Technical Committee CENELEC TC 9X, Electrical and Electronic applications in railways. The key concept of this European Norm is that of levels of software safety integrity. The more dangerous the consequences of a software failure, the higher the software safety integrity level will be.
