Silver Software receives AS 9100B certification
Bangalore-based Silver Software which designed, developed and verified the Landing Gear Extraction Retraction Systems (LGERS) for the A380, has been given the AS 9100B certification, which is an extension of ISO standards focusing on aerospace safety. The company is involved in developing real-time safety critical embedded software for a wide range of aerospace and avionics environments.
Says Senthil Kumaran, its managing director, "We are proud to supply the majority of tier one OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and has made significant contributions to a number of major programmes for both Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The company has been instrumental in the development of the landing gear for the world's largest passenger airliner, having developed the extension and retraction control software." He added that it is on an expansion mode with an aim to build a US centre during this year. Silver Software started operations in 1995 and has offices in the UK, India and Spain.
It focuses on providing solutions for safety-critical software in the domains of aerospace and railway signalling and has worked on the software of a range of aerospace products for blue chip clients in Europe, US and Asia.
